Packaging Design, Marketing, Creative Direction

Gelato is a San Diego–based lifestyle brand bringing together products, campaigns, and retail experiences.

The owners of Gelato brought me on to develop packaging and product design for their mountain spring water product. They requested a fun and vibrant concept for those who enjoy a party vibe, minus the alcohol.

Working with the brand’s established guidelines, I designed the 12oz aluminum cans, packaging design, 12-pack boxes, and 24-pack shipper trays. I also had the opportunity to work closely with the distribution team, ensuring each detail aligned with the food and beverage requirements.

After several rounds of testing and refinement, we finalized a vibrant, playful look that stands out on the shelves. The packaging also caught the attention of some major sponsors at prominent SoCal festivals, including Boots in the Park, SoCal Taco Fest, Beach Life Festival, and Bay Fest San Diego!

I also had the opportunity to design seasonal and holiday-themed sticker sheets for event swag bags. Each illustration is hand-drawn and were a customer favorite, as they turned into collectible items.

Sticker Sheets

For the launch of Gelato’s, “nostalgic dupe” t-shirt collection, I led the creative direction for the photoshoot. My responsibilities included overseeing concept development, designing five of the t-shirts, creating the shoot treatment, casting models, booking the studio, and also stepping in as a model.
